I am a Registered Psychologist with over 30 years experience working with young people aged 3 to 18 yrs. Qualifying in South Africa as a Clinical Psychologist, I have experience with formal psychological assessment and a range of psychotherapeutic approaches. I find play therapy, art therapy and sandplay therapy to be the gentlest yet most powerful ways to assist young people.
Medicare rebates are available for sessions but referral from your GP would be essential for this.
Sessions for your child - What to expect:
Deciding to bring your child to counselling or psychotherapy can be difficult; you are welcome to call me for a brief discussion prior to setting an appointment time.
If your child is primary aged or younger, I would need to meet with you before meeting them. This early process of assessment is vital in my gaining a deep enough understanding of their lives; it also ensures that you have a good sense of the person who is working with your child.
